Beau's Darl Helmüt
Beau’s Dark Helmüt is an extra-strong version of a German black lager. It displays a mellow roasted character that is juxtaposed with the enjoyable lager crispness. Schwarzbier is the name for the German black lager style. It has refined mocha inflections and a surprisingly subtle roasted flavour for a beer as dark as the furthest reaches of the galaxy. We first brewed this beer recipe in 2012 for our annual Beau’s Oktoberfest celebrations. Malty, bready notes (think pumpernickel without caraway) provide the backdrop to this clean, crisp beer. Malt depth maintains a pleasant balance and keeps the bigger alcohol presence nicely integrated. The finish is bright and crisp. It will go excellent with our Dinner Special this weekend (Herb and garlic stuffed chicken supreme with a mushroom leek cream sauce) or with any of our three burgers on the menu!

Pepperwood Grove Old Vine Zinfandel
This Californian wine is made of 100% old vine Zinfandel grapes, this big, mouth-filling wine is deep purple in colour with a bouquet of blackberry, fresh fig, white pepper and clove. This full-bodied zin shows dark rich flavours of black currant, raspberry, tobacco leaf, and caramel. A delicious partner with sausage pizza, grilled burgers or your favourite pasta served with a rich, hearty sauce. Try this wine with one our our homemade pasta's today!

The Kingston Yacht Club and Queen's Sailing Team are well represented at the 2016 Youth Sailing World Championship in Auckland, New Zealand. KYC's Pat Wilson and Arie Moffat are in the 420 (Male) fleet, and QST's Matti Muru in the Laser Radial (Male) fleet. | November Sailor of the Month – Queen's University Keelboat Team
Congratulations to the Queen's Sailing Team becoming Sail Canada's Sailor of the Month!On November 7th, Queen’s University, became the second North American team to win the Student Yachting World Cup in its thirty-six year history. The Canadian boat was helmed by 4th year engineering student, Will Jones with crew members Clifton Kartner, Daniel Sheedy, Denby Mcdonnell, Sam Thompson, Adrienne Gudreault, Claire Boileau, and Connor Mackenzie.

Robert Davis finished 13th in the World Cup event. Robert as well as Pete and Joan Kraszewski send their seasons greetings to all our members from Melbourne Austrailia.
| Outer Harbour Remediation - Update
Our construction project to stabilize the break water has been a big success. Our contractor (Morven Construction) has done a very good job in building a rock ledge to support our new pre cast concrete barriers, and in pouring the very solid concrete ledge. This ledge solidifies the crumbling gabion rock cages that are the inner wall of the harbour, and will form a base for the new ``W`` dock in the spring.
Thanks to everyone for their patience. Construction projects always come with challenges - and inconveniences - this one has been no exception. Our sympathy and apologies go to Rick and Laura for the (project related) damage to their boat.
There is still some work remaining before the machinery is taken away. We are trying to renew the last 3 sections of the ``sidewalk`` on the break water, and we have 4 -5 truckloads of Armour stone to place at the very end of the break water itself. It is difficult to predict the exact schedule, as all heavy equipment contractors are juggling their schedules and working around weather in order to finish various jobs prior to freeze up. That being said, we would hope to have the job wrapped up by the end of next week barring equipment or weather problems. Trucks carrying the stone may start arriving today, but if not by Monday. The sidewalk repair involves breaking up the existing sidewalk, raising the drooping steel perimeter frame, compacting rock into the base, then forming the end and re-pouring the top. This job is long overdue, as our current sidewalk has been cracked and off level for years. The sidewalk was being undermined because the rock that was designed to support it, had been escaping from the gabion baskets. The new concrete ledge will address this issue.
Finally, thanks in advance to our member volunteers that will see the project to its successful conclusion. Peter Cohrs, Ross Cameron, Rob Crothers and Gord Crothers have all volunteered to contribute time. It is very windy and cold on the break water this time of year, so we should acknowledge their selfless service to the Club.
