Special announcements
| Temporary Club Closing
As the season begins to wind down, we are reviewing the calendar and scheduling some much needed Clubhouse projects that need to happen before Brad leaves for warmer weather. The timing unfortunately means we will need to close the Restaurant and Bar during the week of November 6th as the water will need to be shut off to perform maintenance. There will be no bar, kitchen, or washroom services during this time as we will be upgrading part of the kitchen floor and walls that are in dire need of repair. This project is long overdue and is essential to happen before we experience the Christmas Season. During this time we will also do a quick renovation of the men's washroom as well as review a sewer issue that has been causing us problems all season.
If you have any questions or concerns either about the closure or the scope of work, please contact Greg at manager@kingstonyachtclub.ca or 613.548.3052

| Beer of the Week
| Wine of the Month
This is a great wine with a fun label that looks like a poster that would be nailed to a tree in the Wild West, complete with the description "Carefully Matured in American Oak." Zinfandel may be America's heritage wine grape, but guess what? This red comes from Italy, specifically the southern region of Puglia, where zinfandel normally goes by a less popular synonym, "primitivo." This is smooth, full-bodied and accessible, with plump stewed fruit, blueberry and raisin flavours on a rounded, sweet core infused with baking spices and toasted coconut. Perfect with most past dishes, or flamed grilled meats or try it with this weeks meatball sub special!
Sailing
| Goodbye James
Sadly, we are losing (at the end of October) James Rountree, our affable & capable Sailing Manager, who elevated our KYC programming and member involvement through WinW and provided excellent oversight in our race management program. James is moving out West to pursue new life adventures. Please join us in extending thanks to James for his many contributions to KYC in his short time at the Club, we wish him safe travels and best of luck!
| KYC RACING MARKS REMOVED
Many thanks to John Vines and a few volunteers for hauling our racing marks from the harbour last week and storing for the winter.
| KYC WEATHER STATION
Some of you may have noticed an outage of our club's weather station during a stormy weekend a while back. Thanks to Conrad Falkson for donating his weather station base unit to the club and to Chris Walmsley and Matt White for getting things up and running again! In addition, we have some newer SailFlow displays.
| Queens Cleanup/ Powerwashing
We would like to say a special THANK YOU to all the Queens Athletes who assisted the yard staff this week in moving all the JS Boats in order for the Club to set up for Winter Storage.
Queens will once again be providing power-washing services this year during Haulout. If you would like to participate and/or donate to the team, please see them in the yard on Sunday.
