Tagwerk

Witbier with Quince 6.9% ABV

Witbier with Quince is the inaugural release from Tagwerk, part of the Beau’s + Friends Series. This elegant Belgian-style wheat beer is brewed with organic quince juice, coriander, and hibiscus flowers.

History & Style

Tagwerk Beer celebrates the art of brewing excellence, using respectful innovation to create beer with outstanding taste and more-ishness. Tagwerk takes the name of a farm on the Bruce Peninsula where Master Brewer Christian Riemerschmid von der Heide resides. It is the day-work of the farmer, measured in an acre of farmland that can be worked by hand in one day. Tagwerk creations toast the tradition of an honest day’s work, and the land that provides quality ingredients that elevate a beer to greatness.

Tasting Notes

Witbier with quince pours rose with a white foam and slight haze. The aroma offers bright quince fruit notes with a defined coriander undertone. The flavour is lively, a bit spicy and fruity. The finish is slightly tart and refreshing.

Junior Sailing

| Adult Learn to Sail

KYC is offering the Start Keelboat Sailing qualification which is an entry-level course that builds basic keelboat sailing skills. This course is recommended for those with little boating or sailing experience that want to experience sailing on a keelboat and begin to build basic sailing skills in a relaxed environment and at a comfortable pace. This is a great opportunity to do some of your own sailing and further your understanding of your son or daughter's sailing. Registration is open and spaces are filling up quickly, so make sure to sign up soon - https://school.kingstonyachtclub.com/adultsailing/

If you have any questions, please contact our KYC Sailing Manager Arcchit Sehgal via: sailingmanager@kingstonyachtclub.com

Racers: Due to increased incidence of crews missing their Race Committee duties, Arcchit is now emailing reminders at the start of each week to individuals with duties that week. Remember, it is your responsibility to show up on time (around 5 pm), with crew, and prepared to fulfill your duties. Those that miss their duty will assigned a makeup duty. The duty assignments are always viewable online. For further details concerning RC duties refer to our printed/online "Sailors Handbook".

During the upcoming Shark Worlds regatta, club racing for PHRF 1 and PHRF 2 fleets will proceed as usual but with a twist. We are planning to moor many/all of our club racing PHRF 1 and 2 boats at POH (to make way for all the visiting Sharkies), at no cost to KYC boat owners. Please convey your intentions with Peter Van Rossem. Details about the logistics will follow closer to the date. We are thinking of having our post race winners celebration at the Portsmouth Tavern. We plan to have online results available shortly after completion of racing.

Upcoming weekend events:

| KYC Athletics at World Championships

KYC members Ali ten Hove 49erFX, Robert Davis Laser and Hugh Macrae Laser are competing in the World Championships in Denmark. At this event the best of the best are competing. Unlike the Olympics multiple athletes from the same country can compete. Olympic sailing is one athlete per country. This event is key for many countries to secure a spot at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
