Knotmeter - September 28, 2018

Congratulations to all the sailors at the CORK Fall regatta last weekend!

| Special Announcements

It is slowly growing close to that time of the year. Our final race night is now officially done and we are begining to review some fall projects and clean up the yard. With this, we are o asking membership to think about taking their boats on the hard from the Club as cradles will be dropped off in a few weeks as we get ready for haulout (Oct 28, 29).

As for our Club fiscal year - our last day is this Sunday, with auditors begining to review how we did starting Monday. For this reason we will be doing a full inventory of the Club Sunday Night and therefore will be needing to close our restarurant at 6pm on Sunday.

Although our 2018 books will be closing at the end of September, please remember our restaurant is still in "full swing" with Neil and his team creating fantistic features and dinner specials. Our Winter calander is also now on our website, with our Club Events posted! So please pencil tthem in!

If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line.

| Beer of the Week

Tom Green Summer Stout

Blonde Stout 5% ABV

Tom Green Beer Milk Stout is going blonde for the summer! Tom Green Summer Stout is a sun-kissed golden ale with roasty and rich stout-like flavour. It is brewed with cacao nibs, and infused with organic fairtrade Colombian coff¬ee roasted locally at Ottawa’s Bridgehead Roastery. A hint of sweetness is contributed by the milk sugar (lactose) that makes a milk stout special.

History & Style

A blonde stout (also known as a golden stout) achieves an almost magical juxtaposition of appearance and experience, by infusing a brilliant, clear golden ale with stout-like aromas and flavours of coff¬ee and cacao. The coffee used in Tom Green Summer Stout is a medium-roast organic fairtrade coffee from the Colombian municipality of Piendamó. It was roasted by Ottawa’s Bridgehead Roastery and features flavours of chocolate, caramel, vanilla and roasted marshmallow.

Tasting Notes

Tom Green Summer Stout pours clear golden-blonde with white foam. Coff¬ee and cacao provide their classic aromas to this beer. The mocha flavour notes are supplemented by subtle berry nuances. The finish is mildly sweet and lingering.
