Come and make Kingston Yacht Club your cottage in the city! Whether you have your own boat, or not, you’ll find friends and fun here - any time of the year. Our membership is a mix of new sailors, experienced racers, long distance cruisers, young families, single individuals and empty nesters. The Club is full of people from all walks of life who enjoy boating, enjoy being on and near the water, and who love having a ‘cottage in the city’.

Kingston Yacht Club offers several membership categories, depending on your needs or level of involvement in club activities and amenities.
Flag Membership (Voting)
Flag members enjoy all of the amenities of the club and have voting rights. Full membership is required for a wet or dry mooring at KYC or to participate in the Community Club program.
Flag Family - The Family Full membership category is for two cohabitating people (Member and Nominee) and all named dependents (children under 19 or dependent adult), who may or may not be cohabitating with the Member and Nominee. The Member and Nominee are each granted a vote.
Flag Single - The Single Full membership category is for one person and all named dependents (children under 19 or dependent adult), who may or may not be cohabitating with the Member. The Member is granted a vote.
Flag Corporate - The Flag Corporate membership is for a business and includes 2 votes. Please contact the General Manager to discuss how the membership could be structured to fit your needs.
Flag members under 25 includes a free Dry Mooring.
Non Voting Memberships
Burgee Watersports Memberships
Burgee Associate members may participate in racing, cruising and social activities. However, only Full members and their nominees have voting rights. Associate members can access KYC’s Wolfe Island property, Jemmett’s Landing, by land only.
Family Watersports - The Family Watersports membership category is for two cohabitating people (Member and Nominee) and all named dependents (children under 19 or dependent adult), who may or may not be cohabitating with the Member and Nominee.
Single Watersports - The Single Watersports membership category is for one person and all named dependents (children under 19 or dependent adult), who may or may not be cohabitating with the Member.
Clubhouse Memberships
Clubhouse memberships have specific restrictions.
Clubhouse / Social - The Clubhouse / Social membership includes access to the clubhouse only, with the ability to go swimming (but no access to any watercraft including paddle boards, kayaks, etc)
Clubhouse / Crew - The Clubhouse / Crew membership is for crew racing on a boat and only want access to the clubhouse during racing events (Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on weekend racing events). During the racing season, access to the clubhouse is limited to race nights/days only, but full access to the club is granted during the off season.
Junior Membership
A Junior Member enjoys the same rights and privileges as a Single Associate Member. Junior Membership is available to someone who is between the ages of 12 and 19 years old as of April 1 of the current membership year.
Non-Resident Membership
A non-resident member enjoys the same rights and privileges as a Single Associate member. Non-Resident Membership is available to someone who resides more than 80 kilometres from KYC, does not moor or otherwise maintain a boat within 80 kilometres of KYC, other than in winter storage. Non-Resident members are limited to accessing the club a maximum of 2 weeks cumulative per membership season. Students attending educational institutions in and around Kingston are not eligible to be Non-Resident Members.
